Period 1962-1976

Parish Finance officer "OOrkanakkan" 1 Mr. Ansily Miranda 2. Mr Nazarath were for decades holding this post and doing their duty praiseworthy. During this time St Dominics parish was a substation of St. Andrews parish.

During 1962 the priests of Society of Jesus came to start a collage at Thumba and they settled at St.Dominics in a rented house and they were in charge of the spiritual need of the St.Dominics laity- like daily Mass, Baptism, First communion and Anointing of the sick.

It was Father Zacharias Chandy S.J who began to work in St.Dominics for the first time and Brother Chandy assisted him. Nearly for a year they stayed in a nearby rented house. During this period they constructed a Hall near the Parochil house with necessary toilet facilities and kitchen. Fr Chandy S.J and the aspirants to their order began to stay in this hall and parochial house leaving the rented house. The aspirants joined the St.Xaviers collage for pre-degree course. This was a new beginning to the church in the line of spirituality and social field.

After a period of 4 years, they constructed a seminary and they shifted to that place- the Hall they constructed was given to the parish itself. This hall was then used for Night study for the school going students of the parish. Br Mathew P was in charge of the night study. The attraction of the programme was the children who came for night study were first allowed to play in the ground in front of the church and the night study begins from 6.30pm to 8.30 pm. Br Mathew.p used to clear their doubts and minded the study session. There were about 30 students who attended the study session.

During holidays these children were involved in cultural and physical and intellectual programmes like games, essay writing, drawing, singing competition and yearly picnic. This continued up to the year 1976.

The results of this programmes was that almost all of them are now in high position in the society.
